MYSL Newsletter Update

Coaches,

~AGM

Thank you to all of you that attended our Annual General Meeting on Thursday night. In addition to an open exchange of information, there were a couple of important accomplishments.

-Bylaw Changes: Several changes to the MYSL Bylaws were voted on and approved. The updated bylaws will be posted on our web site. The most important change that each coach needs to be aware of is that our membership consists of each TEAM in our league. Each team gets one vote on any future voting issues. Teams may send a representative of their choice and that representative may change from meeting to meeting.

-Officers: The membership voted for the following Officers for a two year term:

President - Jaime Frias

Vice President - Cary Jones

Secretary - Suzy Schuman

Treasurer - Mark Bethel

~Fall Refs

All teams playing this Fall that need refs must confirm games with our Ref Coordinator, Joaquin Trigueros. His email is america682000@yahoo.com.mx

-Update sent to team reps:

You are receiving this message as a Coach or Manager of a team playing in the CCSL Coast section. That is a team in a Copper, Bronze or Silver division. The website used to run this section is at www.CCSLCoast.org Other Sections and Regions may have different instructions and are on a different website.

If you played in the Spring league that was run on this website you'll find most procedures the same, however here's a reminder for you, new teams, and any new members of your TeamStaff! There is a shortcut to directions for each of these activities on the home page of the website www.CCSLCoast.org please read them if you have questions.

Roster
Ensure your roster is updated. You should have done this already as most teams print the match cards the day before and that's what prints on the match card! Guest players do not go on your roster.

Match Cards
The home team is required to print two match cards to provide to the ref. Smart away teams do it too. . .just in case! Teams using guest players must hand write the guest player's name and CYSA ID on both match cards. At the end of the game match cards are signed and each team gets one. Home team is required to keep the match cards for 6 weeks after the season ends.

Report a score
After the game each team should report the score online within 24 hours.

Can I use a Guest Player?
Up to three guest players are allowed per team in a game. Players eligibility to guest depends on their age and the bracket of the team they are registered to Please read the guest player synopsis carefully, it's linked from the home page. Use of illegal guest players will result in severe sanctions. If you have a situation that the synopsis does not answer and you wish to check guest player eligibility send an email to director@ccslcoast.org with the guest player name, CYSA ID # and the borrowing team name and ID#.

Guest officials
Guest officials (ie manager, coach) may be used in league games. The guest official must present their pass to the referee at check in and be affiliated with the same League of Registration as the team. The first four (4) digits of the team ID on the CYSA pass of the guest player must be the same as the team ID of the team.

Oh no, Red Card
If your player received a red card, or an adult was sent off, the referee will hold the card and the Home Team's match report. Passes are mailed to the District Referee Co-ordinator and returned by your League President. Suspensions can be viewed at http://www.d2sra.org/home/suspensions/

Blowout Scores
One point will be deducted for blowout games in all Copper Divisions and all U9 Bronze and U10 Bronze divisions. A blowout is defined as a goal differential greater than 7. Coaches are recommended to have a plan if a game is lopsided.

Enjoy your season!
