I am looking forward to hosting the annual Halloween Tournament October 29th & 30th. This will be my 3rd year as the Tournament Director; I am motivated to make this an unforgettable event. I have enjoyed providing you with a variety of tournaments over the past years and look forward to the continued growth. I would like to invite your team to apply for this year’s tournament. The past tournaments have been a great success and widely attended. Last year we had over 60 teams participating. My goal for this year is to get more teams to join in and take part of this wonderful event.
This tournament was designed to give teams throughout the valley the chance to compete with each other; it is open to any team wishing to play. It’s fun filled for the players and the fans with first class competition from teams all over our great valley. If you’ve been here once, please join us again. If you haven’t participated in our tournament, I would like to encourage you to do so. I am taking every effort in making sure all teams have a great time and enjoy our great tournament.
This year I would also like to introduce a Uniform Costume Contest. The rules are simple; players may wear any type of uniform as long as the t-shirt is the same color with their number on the back. Aside from that I encourage the teams to be as creative as possible.
Sincerely,
Edgar Mondragon (Tournament Director)

Making the Right Choice for Your Team - the Differences Between the CYSA Cups
CYSA Founders' Cupcompetition is established exclusively for Division 4 teams that play in CYSA recreational leagues. Founders' Cup is a fabulous opportunity for recreational level teams to enter and compete in an advancement-style tournament. Founders' Cup offers competition in the U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19 age groups. All CYSA Division 4 teams are encouraged to enterCYSA Founders' Cup. Because Division 4 teams often play against only other teams from within their league of registration, the team's rosters may be approved for intra league play only. If a team does not already have a roster and player passes that have been authorized by the District Registrar, it is important to check with their League Registrars well in advance of the Founders' Cup application deadline in order to ensure their roster and player passes will be reviewed and authorized for Cup play and in time to obtain the district-authorized roster that is required for the cup application. The registrar can guide the team through the requirements for obtaining their member passes in time for the Founders' Cup games.
CYSA Association Cup offers mid-level competition for CYSA's Division 3 teams in the U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U16 and U19 age groups. If a team's roster indicates the team is a Division 3 team and they meet all other eligibility and application requirements, they can participate in Association Cup. Typically teams that enter Association Cup compete in the Bronze or Silver Division of CCSL or in other comparable CYSA Division 3 playing leagues. Association Cup championship teams do not advance beyond the CYSA state-level competition. High-level Division 3 teams in the U13 through U17 age groups that wish to compete for the chance to advance to Region IV Presidents Cup should consider entering Presidents Cup. Because U14 Association Cup takes place in winter, U14 Division 3 teams with numerous players on their roster who also participate in their high school's winter soccer season may wish to consider the CYSA Presidents Cup as an alternative to Association Cup. Division 3 U15 and U17 teams have the option of entering the U16 and U19 age groups of Association Cup or can opt to apply to the Presidents Cup U15 or U17 divisions.
From MYSL - Teams that should apply for Association cup are low Silver teams, Bronze, Copper and Upper. Copy and paste this link for more information:
CYSA Presidents Cup is the highest level of competition that is offered for U9, U10 and U11 teams and is the equivalent of State Cup for those specific age groups. For that reason, with the exception of the very top level Division 3 teams in the U9 through U11 age groups, most Division 3 teams opt to play in Association Cup. On the other hand, in the U12 - U17 age groups Presidents Cup was specifically created for the top-tier Division 3 teams and second-tier Division 1 teams. Any Division 3 team that has demonstrated a high-level of success in Association Cup in previous seasons or that competes successfully in the Silver Division of CCSL and/or other comparable CYSA Division 3 playing league or CYSA tournaments, the CYSA Presidents Cup is a recommended option. U13 through U17 teams should consider the option of playing in Presidents Cup if they are not quite ready for the State Cup competition, if they are seeking competition a step up from Association Cup or if they wish to play in a competition is a qualifier for Presidents Cup Regionals. U14 teams with players who participate in their high school winter soccer season may find the Presidents Cup to be the best option for their team because U14 Presidents Cup play begins after the March 15th CIF exclusionary period. Presidents Cup also creates the opportunity for U15 and U17 Division 3 teams to compete in the single year age groups that are not offered in Association Cup. A team that is the second or third tier Division 1 teams from a clubs or league may find Presidents Cup rather than State Cup to be the cup of choice. Teams that qualified for the prior season's CYSA State Cup quarterfinals are not eligible to enter CYSAPresidents Cup and we recommend they select State Cup as their CYSA Cup option. The U13 through U17 CYSA Presidents Cup is a qualifier for US Youth Soccer Region IV Presidents Cup competition, which will be held in Denver in June 2012. Region IV Champions in the U14 through U17 age groups will advance to US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup Nationals, which will be hosted by CYSA in Sacramento, CA in July, 2012.
From MYSL - Teams that should apply are Silver Division teams or Class 1 teams that are not very strong. Copy and paste this link for more information:
CYSA State Cup is a competition geared toward the highest level competitive team and offers competition in U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 age groups. Division 1 teams that compete in the Premier or Gold Divisions of CCSL or teams successfully competing at comparable level of play in other CYSA playing leagues should consider applying for CYSA State Cup. Teams from a league or club that fields multiple Division 1 teams in an age group should consider entering State Cup if they are their club's top-level team in that age group. State Cup is a qualifier for the US Youth Soccer National Championship series. CYSA State Cup champions will go on to represent CYSA in the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships. Winners of the U-14 through U-19 age groups at the Regional Championships advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships, which is widely considered to be the nation's premier youth soccer event. The Regionals will be held in Phoenix in June 2012 with the U14-U19 winners advancing to US Youth Soccer National Championships in Rock Hill, SC in July 2012.
From MYSL - Teams that should apply are the top 2 Silver Elite teams and above. Copy and paste this link for more information:
Please note - All applications and a copy of your roster are due to MYSL three weeks prior to posted deadlines so that we can make sure that all of your documents and payments are in order. There will be no exception to this deadline, so PLEASE, make sure your team manager, coach, or team representative follows up on this.
