Weekly Newsletter -
Thank you for making Silent Saturday a success! Roaming around the fields, we found that most teams were abiding by the special rules. We hope you and your players learned something about your team’s ability to play by themselves, without instruction by coaches and parents. But most importantly, we hope the kids had fun!

Schedules posted
For U8 and U9 teams, we posted schedules for the next 5 weeks. We try to balance out the games, so that kids have a chance to win and lose during the season. Kids can learn a lot from both outcomes.

For U10 and up, we posted schedules for weeks 6 and 7.

Playoff schedules (U10 and up)
For teams age U10 and up, there will be a 3-week tournament starting on October 30. All teams will participate. Results of the regular season are only used to determine brackets for the tournament. We hope to post most of the Tournament schedules by next Thursday and have them all posted by Monday evening, October 25. Please read carefully the playoff rules. Also, please note that it is impossible to honor scheduling requests during the tournament weeks.

Game cards and Rosters
Please remember to print out your roster before you get to the field. This is the main cause of game start delays. Thanks!

Hotline
If there is an issue on the field this Saturday, we have established a hot line manned by one of our officers. We will try to help. Please call this number: 415 279-0820.

Best wishes and Have fun this weekend!

CCSL:
Dear Coach, Manager, League/Club Official, Field Scheduler or Referee Assignor:

We have appointed a broad, ad hoc committee of experienced youth soccer volunteers to identify improvement areas and implement plans in time for the start of the CYSA spring season.

As a first step, We want to hear from our key constituents: teams, referees, clubs, leagues and the administrators.

Please go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TSBH7F2 to complete the survey.

We will keep the survey open for input until midnight on October 31, 2010.

We will publish the results and action items that come from the survey.

A new chapter in competitive youth soccer began six weeks ago with the launch of the California Competitive Soccer League (CCSL). The 2010 CCSL Coast and Bay Leagues include the teams that competed in the Abronzino, Delgado, Redwood and Alvarez Leagues last year as well as teams from other districts of CYSA.

CCSL was established to provide better and more varied competition over our previous, local leagues. We have succeeded in this. Games are being played and the feedback for the most part is positive.

Our focus is now on improving what we started.

Thank you for your time and dedication. We must all work together to fulfill the mission of the Coast and Bay to serve the youth soccer community.

Rodney Robinson, District 2 Commissioner and Maria Frias, District 1 Commissioner

CCSL Send Offs:
You can look up the status of any send off on the D1 website http://www.cysad1.org/administration/discipline_send_offs/
There are instructions for CCSL.

CCSL Coast and Bay Divisions:
If you are a player or coach that received a send off (red card) in a CCSL Coast or Bay Division match, click here to see a listing of all send offs given in CCSL Coast & Bay this season. The pass will be sent to the District 1 Assistant Commissioner and the team may arrange to get it back when the suspension has been served. Please allow 48 hours for the send off to be posted on the CCSL Coast website.

CCSL Winter League -
There will be a winter league, but it will be run by District 5 and District 8. That means that you will be always have to travel for the away games. If you are interested in participating in this league, please let Mr. Guzman know.

SSF Blast - Fund Raiser
Our SSF Brisbane Blast U14 girls team will host a Taco Night this Saturday, 10/23, 6-9pm in Brisbane. The girls are raising money to participate in the Donosti Cup in San Sebastian, Spain next summer. It is all-you-can-eat, freshly grilled carne asada and chicken tacos with homemade pozole (pork and corn soup), rice, beans and salsa. Drinks are included. Cost is $12, $8 for kids 5-12 and free for kids under 5. Our dinner fundraisers are always fun with many people from the local soccer community attending.

The girls have raised $12K so far and getting close to their target of raising $20K. They will also host a Dinner/Dance party on Saturday, 12/4, 6:30-11:00pm with the band Los Compass and free salsa lessons. The Salsa Dinner/Dance party will be $40.

Both events will be at the beautiful Mission Blue Center, 475 Mission Blue Dr. in Brisbane.

If you are interested in either, please let me know. The Donosti Cup wrote a nice article welcoming the girls entry into the tournament. Links to the story are below. If any other teams are interested in participating in the tournament, feel free to contact me.
