Hello Coaches,

~New email address for Mr. Guzman. Mr. Guzman's had to change his email address. Please make a note of the new address mysloffice@ymail.com If you received a note from him asking for money to help him get home from his European vacation, please know that was not from him.

~There are talks in the works about Upper Soccer becoming part of CCSL Bronze North. If you are playing Upper and are interested, please let Mr. Guzman know as soon as possible.

~If you are U8 or U9 and are looking fro stronger competition, MYSL is in discussion with PAL, SSF, Viking, PUSC, and SBLSC about starting an elite rec division with some modified rules.

~Teams that want to do NorCal in the spring are on their own for now.

~There are things that competitive teams can do now to get some stronger games. Since CYSA passes are accepted at all US Club events, you can more easily participate in the US Club tournaments. For more informtion, or recommendation on tournaments, come by the MYSL Office!

~Vikings Update
Dear Coaches and Team Contacts,

The season continues to progress with very few issues. Teams are behaving, reporting scores, and cleaning up after themselves. Thanks and keep it up!!

Rain

We continue to monitor the rain situation. The fields have dried out quite a bit today. The forecast is for light rain late in the afternoon on Saturday. The Vikings website is the ONLY place for up-to-date, accurate information for games. We update the page frequently, so make sure and refresh your browser every time you visit the page. If in doubt, go to the field. Games on the artificial turf fields (South Sunset, Garfield, Crocker, Kimbell, O'Connell, Marshall) will be played in the rain. It is up to the Referee to abandon a particular game on a turf field, for example if it there is heavy winds. In that case, the decision is made on a game-by-game basis.


Playoffs (U10+).

We completed our first playoff week for the U10+ teams and things went quite smoothly. We have posted revised playoff schedules with results. We suggest you download a fresh schedule, read the special rules, bring a copy of the rules with you to your game (including the shootout rules if relevant) and discuss them briefly with the referee before the start of the game. If you wait until the moment of confusion, it is too late. In all cases, however, the referee's decision is final. Also please help the referee keep the games on time and report your scores as quickly as possible, so we can figure out trophy pickup.

U8/U9. All teams receive medals. Don't forget to pick your's up next week, so you can bring to your last game next weekend.

U8 -14 Rec Teams Trophy/Medal pick-up:
