~Rescheduling SSF Games 11/20 and 11/21
Upper House Coaches/Managers,
We've had to reschedule the SSF games for this weekend due to the forecast downpour (it's supposed to rain today, Saturday, and Sunday) and the very likely grass field closures. Because this is the last weekend of the season, made all the more firm by next weekend's Thanksgiving holiday, we cannot afford to have these games rained out. So all the games have been rescheduled to turf fields.
Please see the attached Excel file for the rescheduled games, all of which are for this Saturday afternoon, tomorrow.
I realize your teams will not have much time to adjust to the new schedule but I hope you'll agree that it's preferable to having the games rained out. We've done our best to schedule them as conveniently as possible for your (e.g. MYSL White v. SC United starts only 15 minutes later than original schedule; Mantarrayas get to play on the same Franklin field as their other game that day, with a 2 hour rest period) but there were severe limitations on the field availability since most soccer games had already been scheduled on the turf fields.
Please note that the BU11 SSF Bombers v SF Freedom game has now been moved to Saturday.
The two BU11 games will be played at Kimball field (at Geary St. and Steiner St in SF). You'll use half of the full sized pitch. The first teams, SSF Bombers and SF Freedom, will need to get there a little early to move the big goals to the side and roll in the small goals to play half a pitch.
Kimball Field: Geary St. and Steiner St, SF
Franklin Field: Bryant St and 16th St, SF
If your team cannot make the match I'm sorry to say it will need to be recorded as a forfeit as there is no time left in the season for reschedules. If you know for sure that your team cannot make the match please let me know by email so we can alert the refs and the other team.
Cheers,
Jon
We managed to get turf fields. Our options are very few and the time frame is tiny, so teams will have to stick with these times. Any team that can't make these times forfeits -- no way around this since next weekend is Thanksgiving and the season is over. No time to go back and forth with teams finding the perfect time slot for them this weekend (and few field possibilities to begin with).
I've attached the new schedule as an Excel file. Could you contact the SSF teams and MYSL White? I'll also contact the teams, but it helps if we double up here, given the short notice.
Refs will be arranged.
Cheers,
Jon

~U.S. Futsal Agreement with CYSA
Dear Coach, Parent and Team Manager;
We are happy to inform you that because of our agreement with U.S. Futsal, we are able to offer you the ability to register with Futsal, an organization separate from CYSA. Futsal is the official indoor soccer game of FIFA. It is the game that all great soccer players such as Pele and Maradona (FIFA players of the century) to FIFA players of the year such as Mezzi and Ronaldinho grew up playing. If you are interested in having your team, son or daughter play this exciting sport please go to:
Select California Futsal North as the State Association and then choose the league closest to you. If you have further questions please call Alex Para at 510.836.8733.
If you are interested in seeing some video of this exciting game, please go to:
We all look forward to seeing you play Futsal during late Fall or Winter season.
~Cup Play
Following is information about Cup Play for all of major CYSA Cups. Mission Coaches and teams that are not participating, please come out and help support other Mission Teams. Make sure any eligible guest players have been identified. Help support our league in getting better and stronger in seasons to come!
~Important State Cup Information
Good Afternoon CYSA State Cup U12-U13 Participants and Reserve Pool Teams
This is the first of in a series of email communications that will be sent to you between now and when you complete cup play. It is imperative that you check the CYSA website and your email regularly for any updated information.
The bracket draw took place this past weekend. Team bracketing can be viewed on the cup web pages. By the end of the week we plan to post the bracket diagrams that display the advancement configuration as well as specifying the venue at which your team will play.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR THE U12 & U13 STATE CUP WE WERE ABLE TO ELIMINATE ONE WEEKEND OF PRELIMINARY ROUND GAMES. THE RESULT IS THAT THE SINGLE ELIMINATION GAMES WILL BE MOVED UP BY ONE WEEKEND. BARRING ANY RAIN OUT WEEKENDS, WE WILL COMPLETE THE U12-U13 STATE CUP ON FEBRUARY 12TH. AN UPDATED CALENDAR WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE THIS WEEK.
We will complete the game schedules for the cups in the order that they occur (Under 10 – Under 11 Cup Festival first; Founders Cup U12-U12 second; Association Cup U12-U14 third; State Cup U12-U13 fourth; Founders Cup U16-U19 fifth; Association Cup U16-U19 sixth; Presidents Cup U14-U16 seventh and last but not least will be the State Cup U14-U19.) At this time planning for the Under 10 – Under 11 Cup Festival is our top priority as it starts in just over 2 weeks. Please exercise patience and allow staff adequate time to create and publish the game schedules. We will work on them intermittently among all of the other tasks we must accomplish to make sure the various cups take place. We promise to post the schedules as quickly as we can but please keep in mind that the requirement is for them to be published 3 weeks before the games are played. Continue to check the website daily.
Please be advised of a change in our credentials check protocol. CYSA will no longer require the Friday night credentials check. Instead, copies of each team’s frozen roster which contains only the names of the team’s rostered players at the time of the roster freeze will be printed by cup staff and affixed to each team’s game cards.
And last but VERY IMPORTANT: Every player participating in cup must have a CONSENT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT release affixed to the back of their player pass. The referee will be checking every player’s pass for this form before they are permitted to participate in CYSA Cup games. I have attached a copy of a template for this form for your convenience. There are eight forms per page and they can be printed either on stickers or on regular paper and the pass re-laminated.
IF YOUR TEAM’S PASSES DO NOT ALREADY HAVE THIS FORM SIGNED BY THE PLAYER’S PARENT/GUARDIAN AND AFFIXED ON THE BACK OF THE PASS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LEAGUE REGISTRAR IMMEDIATELY FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW YOU SHOULD PROCEED. YOU MUST HAVE THE FORM ON THE PASS BEFORE YOUR PLAYERS CAN PARTICIPATE IN CUP. Please make sure that for questions regarding the Medical Release you contact your league registrar rather than the CYSA Office.
If your team is on the Reserve Pool wait list we will notify you immediately if we have a spot in a bracket for your team.
Thanks for your participation in CYSA Cups. Keep watching for more emails and information on the web! See you at Cup!!!!!

~Vikings
Dear Coaches and Team Contacts,
We have a fantastic group of volunteers in the League (including a lot of you coaches!). On behalf of all the kids who had a chance to laugh, learn, and grow on the soccer pitch this Fall, Jon and I want to thank you all for a remarkably smooth season!
Turf fields this weekend
All the games this weekend are on artificial turf. Games on the artificial turf fields (South Sunset, Garfield, Crocker, Kimball, O’Connell, Franklin) will be played in the rain. It is up to the Referee to abandon a particular game on a turf field, for example if it there is heavy winds. In that case, the decision is made on a game-by-game basis. In the case of lightning, play MUST stop for 10-15 minutes. If there is no more lightning, then play can continue (with the halves cut short). Again, this is decision is made on a game-by-game basis.
We are glad that SF Rec and Park were able to accommodate more games this weekend for the U8/U9 teams. Go out and get soaked and Have fun!
Spring Soccer
Before you bury those cleats away too far back in the closet, please note that spring soccer registration with the Police Activities League (PAL) is coming up.
Unlike Microsoccer, the Fall and Spring season are not run by the same organization for U8-U14. PAL runs the spring season (go to their website and pay close attention to the different requirements for Spring). However, SF Vikings League is still your registration League, so all adds, transfers, etc must be done by the Vikings Office.
Happy Holidays!

~Spring PAL
The PAL Spring League info will be up on Monday. Please check their web site and read all information, and take care of what is needed. They have asked us to let them know “intent to register” by using this link: http://fs10.formsite.com/sfpal/form19/index.html.
Filling out the form on this link will let PAL know which teams are thinking about registering, and will be very helepful.
~Try Outs
MYSL will be holding try-outs for U9 through U13 girls and boys for play in February through March. If you have any ideas or want to be involved, please give us a call or an email! We will send more information on dates and times.
If U14-U19 Coaches and players and would like to hold try outs and work together to develop players at their own highest playing level, as we have in the Green and White Program, give us a call.
